Lock Poker Review

It’s hard to believe that this is going to be my first poker review in 8 months; but I simply hadn’t found any new sites to play at, other than the Carbon Poker or Bovada. I tried playing at BetOnline, but I was not that impressed with their services and I’m thinking about taking their banner down.

I was looking around the internet recently and I found an interesting website about lock Poker. Even though they have been around for some years now, I had never heard of them until recently. They use the same Merge Gaming Network as Carbon Poker. One of the things that I like about Lock Poker is that they offer a lot of different poker games and the competition is a little bit easier than Carbon.

You will be able to play Texas Holdem and Omaha like normal. But, Lock also offers 5 Card Draw/Stud/Joker, 7 Card Stud/Stud Hi Lo, Omaha Hi Lo, Razz, HORSE (Holdem, Omaha Hi Lo, Razz, Stud and Stud Hi Lo), Ace to 5 Low Ball/Deuce to 7 Low Ball/Badugi Triple Draw games.

I’ve always liked Merge Gaming’s software and setup. You can play at multiple tables a lot easier than some of the other remaining poker networks (after most left the US). That will help you clear the first deposit bonus faster (150% up to $750 on a $500 deposit, use bonus code PNREPORT).

The best way to try to clear this bonus is by playing the ring games. I would suggest playing at 3 of the $1/$2 tables at the same time. You can start with a maximum of $200 when you join a table. If you deposit $600, you will be able to max out on all 3 tables. Then, you will be able to build on this total in these rooms.

You will probably be able to average between 60 and 80 raked hands at a table per hour. Multiply that by 3 tables and you will be playing between 200 and 250 hands per hour. This will help you earn the bonus money much faster than trying to earn it through tournament entry fees.

You can also opt to play at the $2/$4 tables. But I would suggest that you may need to start with more money or play at less tables if you go that route. The bonus is earned $5 at a time when you receive 375 poker points.

Lock Poker VIP Program

The VIP program at Lock Poker is one of their better features if you like to play poker really often. There are 3 separate tiers that players can achieve. Each level will require you to earn a certain number of VIP points every month. However, you will be able to receive daily cashback and the ability to exchange VIP points for money if you are a VIP player.

White VIP – This is the first tier and is relatively easy to achieve. You will need to earn a minimum of 1000 VIP points per month to earn this level. This will earn you 10% cashback daily on the rake that you paid and you will be able to exchange 1000 VIP points for $10. You will be able to participate in an exclusive $2K freeroll at the end of each month.

Silver VIP – This is the second tier and is still not that hard to reach, as long as you play poker often. You will need to earn at least 5000 VIP points per month to become Silver VIP. This will earn you 15% cashback daily and every 1000 VIP points can turn into $15 cash. You will also receive entry into the VIP $4K freeroll tournament at the end of the month.

Black VIP – This is much more difficult to attain. You will need to earn at least 10,000 VIP points per month. But, this will earn you 20% cashback on rake fees and every 1000 VIP points will be worth $20. You will also gain entry into the VIP $4K freeroll tournament.
